Eric Tafoya, a native of San Bernardino, California, embarked on a transformative journey of faith when he converted to Catholicism in November 2019. Leaving behind a life entangled with gangs and drugs, Eric’s newfound devotion ignited a passion within him to share the Catholic faith with others.
This newfound zeal led Eric to become a Catholic speaker, forming an apostolate called TraditionalUrbanCatholic7, dedicated to reaching prisoners and men’s groups. With an infectious enthusiasm, he champions the Holy Rosary, Catholic asceticism, doctrine,and life-coping skills, empowering individuals to live a life aligned with Catholic teachings and virtues. Eric’s ministry is a testament to the power of faith to redeem and transform lives.
Eric’s engagement in the Catholic community extends to his involvement with the Knights of Columbus, Catholic Men’s Fellowship, and faith formation programs. His compelling conversion story and dedication to ministry have earned him interviews on prominent platforms such as Catholic Answers, LifeSite News, Virgin Most Powerful Radio, and numerous other programs and podcasts.
Eric’s academic achievements reflect his diverse interests and commitment to personal growth. He holds an Associate’s degree in Theology/Ministry from Harvest Bible University, an Associate’s degree in Social and Behavioral Science, and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with Cum Laude honors. Additionally, he is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Criminology, furthering his understanding of the complexities of crime and social behavior to help reach people when promoting the Catholic Faith.
