Representative Ed Diehl was born and raised in Plains, Montana, and has lived in Oregon since 1989, which he now considers his home. In 1997, he and his wife of 33 years, Jamie, moved to Scio, where they raised their two children in the Santiam community.
In 2011, Ed joined the Catholic Church, an experience that has been profoundly life-changing for him. He has a passion for serving others, working on machines, and learning about technology. An instrument-rated private pilot, Ed flies whenever possible and enjoys rebuilding classic vehicles and exploring new gadgets. In his leisure time, he cherishes spending time with Jamie, summers at the family lake house in Montana, and being with their children’s growing families.
Since 2023, Ed has served in the Oregon House of Representatives. He is a member of several committees, including the House Interim Committee on Economic Development, Small Business, and Trade, where he serves as Vice-Chair. He also serves on the Joint Committee on Conduct, the Joint Interim Committee on Ways and Means Subcommittee on Human Services, the House Committee on Conduct, and the House Interim Committee on Behavioral Health and Health Care.
